Corley Academy is a secondary special school for children with complex communication and interaction difficulties. A significant number of students have an autism diagnosis.  Students bring a range of abilities and aspirations, special educational needs, vulnerabilities, challenges and behaviours.  Student attainment covers the full National Curriculum and GCSE/vocational range.

General Subject Teaching Assistants

We currently have one vacancies and welcome applications.

Corley Academy is looking to appoint Teaching and Learning Assistants to contribute to and support student learning within Key Stages 3 and 4. We currently have 4 vacancies and are looking for one PE subject specific Teaching and Learning Assistant and three  Teaching and Learning Assistants to work across the curriculum. The vacancies have arisen due to staff retirement or staff leaving to take the next steps in their career.

We are looking to appoint calm, creative, enthusiastic and hard-working individuals, with a positive mind-set, who are prepared to contribute fully to all aspects of school life and work as part of a dedicated team to enhance our students’ learning and personal development.

You will be required to be a Co-Pastoral Mentor alongside a member of our Teaching staff

The successful candidate will demonstrate high standards of literacy in reading, writing and spoken language and will be skilled in utilising this knowledge to engage, support and develop the literacy of students up to GCSE level.

The working hours are 35 hours per week - Monday to Friday, as detailed below

Monday 8.30am - 4.15 pm (Morning Briefing)

Tuesday - Thursday 8.45am - 4.30pm

Friday 8.45am - 3.15pm

15 minute AM break, Half hour lunch break.

Induction and training will be provided to all new staff. We are very proud of our ability to support and encourage our Teaching and Learning Assistants in their professional development, three of our teachers started their professional journey with us as Teaching Assistants.
