At Corley Academy, we are committed to helping every child develop confidence and competence in handwriting. We recognise that there are a number of barriers that our students may face and understand it poses challenges for some learners.

We are currently exploring Nelson Handwriting support and resources. Some parents and carers will have received details around this regarding their child's individual handwriting needs. If you are interested in this, please contact Kate Foxon.

With our students' needs in mind, we have a strategic approach to handwriting support this academic year. This includes a series of support sheets aimed at parents, carers and our curriculum staff that focus on 10 key areas that commonly affect handwriting. Students will also have 'step by step' versions to support in their fine motor skills with other guides to be developed as the year goes on. These resources are 'on a page' and designed to offer practical tips, simple strategies and links to more expert resources that you can use at home.
