Sleep Measure Focus Group Invitation
Opportunity to be part of a Focus group to inform a new self-report sleep questionnaire for adolescents (12-18 years) to complete.
Many people with intellectual disabilities (ID) have sleep difficulties, which can have an impact on their health, mood, learning and behaviour. However, there are few tools available to assess sleep, especially in adolescents with ID.
We are currently conducting the REST-ID Study, a study on Reporting Experiences of Sleep in Teens with Intellectual Disabilities, at Aston University. In this study, we aim to design a novel self-report sleep questionnaire and sleep diary for adolescents (aged 12-18 years) with mild-moderate intellectual disabilities (ID).
In this study, we would like to know more about the attitudes caregivers have towards existing sleep measures and whether they are an effective means of assessing the adolescent they care for’s sleep. We are also interested in what new measures should include to accurately describe an adolescent’s sleep.
