Key Stage 3
Each half term students will have a menu from which they can choose their homework.
Students are encouraged to complete at least 6 items from the menu during the course of the half term. The menu has a range of different types of tasks, of varying lengths and difficulties, which students can select from. Parental support is encouraged to discuss tasks with students, support with decision-making and reviewing tasks.
Students are able to complete homework at school during lunchtime if they prefer and support is also available from their Mentor.
Alongside completing tasks from the menu, students are encouraged to read regularly and practice their basic maths skills such as using money, learning timestables and telling the time. All students are able to access the mymaths website which gives support and practice activities for all areas of mathematics, see guide below. Information to support reading and maths is enclosed and also available on the school website.

Coventry Libraries provide Homework Help sessions throughout the city and also provide e-magazines that you can download to your device for free. Our emagazines include Horrible Histories and RasPi.

Research the Olympics responding to the following tasks What is the Olympics? When is this years Olympics? Where is it being held? How often does the Olympics take place? In the previous Olympics (Tokyo 2020), How many gold/silver/bronze medals did Great Britain win? |
What are robots used for? Investigate the positive and negative impacts of robots in society. |
Create a sculpture at home using objects from around your house with someone at home. |
Design a new cereal for breakfast. Sketch your idea and explain what ingredients have been used. Extension - design the packaging for your cereal. Include the cereals name and other details that are included on food packaging. |
We are studying Electronic Music this half term, understanding how to create music using a variety of electronic methods including computers and iPads. Produce a fact sheet detailing how we have been able to listen to music, from the 1800's through to the present day. You can include photos of different devices and even explain how they work. |
